To set-up VPN in Windows XP in you need to do the following:
1) Go to START/Settings/Network Connections
2) Choose the Create a new connection box.
3) Hit the Next button.
4) Choose the Connect to the network at my workplace check button. Hit the Next button.
5) Choose the Virtual Private Network connection check button. Hit the Next button.
6) In Company Name enter "NAU VPN". Hit the Next button.
7) In Host Name enter "vpn.nau.edu". Hit the Next button.
8) Choose the My use only check button. Hit the Next button.
9) Click "Add a shortcut to my desktop" if you want. Hit the Finish button.
To use VPN:
1) Click on your desktop VPN shortcut or click on the VPN shortcut in START/Settings/Network Connections.
2) For User Name enter "nau-students\tmk37". NOTE: Use a backslash between nau-students and your dana account user id.
3) For Password enter your dana account password.
4) Hit the Connect button.
You should then be connected to the NAU VPN and can now connect to NAU shares and shared devices.
To connect to the Bug Class Share:
1) Go to "My Computer".
2) Choose Tools/Map Network Drive.
3) In the Drive text box pick an unused drive letter (any will work).
4) In the Folder text box enter "\\mpcer3\bugz".
5) Make sure the Reconnect at logon box is checked.
6) Hit the Finish button.
