Insect nets are very important in the entomologist's collecting arsenal. Therefore we will arrange optional collecting field trips.

Optional Arthropod collecting field trips

To help students with their collections we will offer a one weekend collecting trip and several weekend day field trips

  • Sep. 15-17 – Overnight collecting trip to the San Francisco Peaks
  • There will be additional weekend day collecting field trips throughout September & October to various locations around Flagstaff.  Additional collecting trips are optional, however the trips are for your benefit and most students who do not attend any of the additional field trips have trouble meeting the requirements of the insect collection.
  • The optional field trip locations include: Mormon Lake, Lockett Meadow, Hart Prairie, Arboretum and Beaver Creek.
