"Bugs are my business."
My Background
I am the Curator of the Colorado Plateau Museum of Arthropod Biodiversity.

I also work for the Merriam-Powell Center for Environmental Research, which promotes interdisciplinary environmental research with a focus on the Colorado Plateau.

My currrent research focuses on the biodiversity of arthropods on the Colorado Plateau and outbreaking insects.

What is a Bug? Technically 'bug' refers to true bugs, insects in the suborder Heteroptera. However, it is also a highly appropriate colloquial term for an insect, hexapod or even all arthropods, with the exception of marine Crustaceans.

Why I teach Entomology BIO322? Insects are the most diverse group of organisms on the planet. They represent a dazzling diversity of ecological roles on the planet Earth. For better or worse, they are the most important group of animals to humans.

I would like to dedicate this page to my Aunt Billie, who is also my wonderful and extremely special godmother. May she have many more 80th birthdays.
